Book Review: The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

Title: Iron Queen
Author: Julie Kagawa
Rating: 5/5

Summary: Meagan Chase is a rare young woman, having powers that are above and beyond those of the fae of summer or winter.  She has the power of the Iron Fey and they want it, they demand it, they will do all they can to have her.

Review: This is the third book in the series and I now need to get my hands on the fourth to finish it.  I adore both Ash and Puck and what they do for Meagan, and I know her life would be vastly different if things hadn’t happened the way that they had.  Things start up after Meagan and Ash are exiled from fay, and still Meagan tries to save the very land that has turned her back on her, save the very world that she has been forced out of.

This is leading to the final battle, where the Iron  King must be destroyed once and for all before the Iron Realm brings about the complete destruction and death of everyone in Summer and Winter. The author has completely captivated me, her writing style is absolutely wonderful and this book is no exception.  Every angle is covered in this book from friendship to love and even loyalty. This book also offers us a view into the reasoning behind why Meagan and Ash are right together, despite the adoration I have for a potential Puck and Meagan coupling.

By the time you are done, you will be trying to get your hands on a copy of the fourth book in the series, I know I am. This book  and this series that shows me that not all YA novels are cookie cutter models of the same thing over and over again.  If you are a fan of this series, you will truly adore this book.
